How To Jailbreak Verizon iPhone 4 Untethered Using Sn0wbreeze 2.6.1

Things are starting to look good for the Verizon iPhone 4 owners considering that the iPhone developer ih8sn0w released the latest Sn0wbreeze version that is capable of untethered jailbreaking the Verizon iPhone 4 on iOS 4.2.7 and iOS 4.3.2 for the other carriers.

The instructions on how to jailbreak using this method are similar to the 4.3.2 jailbreak, the only difference is that you have to point to the 4.2.7 ipsw file instead of the 4.3.2 version.

The Mac users can use the Redsn0w 0.9.6RC14 to jailbreak iOS 4.2.7 untethered and afterwards add http://cydia.pushfix.info in order to install “Verizon Untether For 4.2.7” pack to get full untethered jailbreak.

iPhone 5 Prepared Fitted With Hybrid GSM/CDMA Configuration

Earlier these days the rumors that the iPhone 5 will have a global support emerged, and that means that it will provide both CDMA and GSM support simultaneously, and that is because the Qualcomm chipset that was found when a Verizon iPhone 4

was taken to pieces.

The tech specs for the Qualcomm chipset are:

MDM6600™: supports HSPA+ data rates of up to 14.4 Mbps and CDMA2000® 1xEV-DO Rev. A/Rev. B

Apparently this chipset will also be fitted on the upcoming iPhone 5 in order to achieve global network compatibility.

The hardware differences between the iPhone 4 and

Verizon iPhone 4 that can be viewed bellow will be diminished to zero with the iPhone 5 that will probably share the same hardware for ALL carrier radio versions.

Apple Vs. Samsung Approach

Compared to its predecessor, the iPad 2 is considered a more powerful tool than the previous version, and one determining factor is most certainly the A5 processor that comes fitted to it, that provides a far improved gaming experience and that thanks to its dual-core architecture.

The rumors say that the graphics performance of the A5 processor is ranked up to 9 times faster than the previous version. The iPhone 5 is expected to be fitted with the A5 processor, which could mean a further opening towards the gaming area of the product market.

Apple already issued a prototype called “iPhone 4S” in order to be tested by developers to further improve their understanding of the upcoming iPhone 5 and its performances. Please do note that this prototype is identical on the outside with the iPhone 4 the only difference being the different processor.

Please understand that basically the iPhone 4S is on the inside iPhone 5 and on the outside iPhone 4, a much more rudimentary approach to the Samsung solution that includes the SMDKC110 (S5PC110 Development Kit) is the official reference/evaluation board for Samsung S5PC110. It is the basic system-based hardware design which uses the S5PC110. It can evaluate the basic operations of the S5PC110 and assist in developing codes, as you can see in the following picture:

The development kit featured above, we believe that is much more sophisticated approach to the Apple solution that is basically reduced to a fixed hardware configuration that is basically reduced to the following:

This move made by Apple is completely understandable considering that they would wish to take complete advantage of their much acclaimed device, and that can be achieved only through providing a comprehensive App Store content through which they can advertise their product.

After all, the rumors about the upcoming Samsung processor that has been rumored to be a 2GHz dual core processor that Samsung claims that easily could have been a 4GHz single core, but the power consumption imposed so far this solution.

It will be nice to see how things evolve and to enjoy the fruits of this deadly competition between these huge manufacturers, and to watch this “clash of titans”.

iOS 4.3.2 Untethered Jailbreak Is Still Possible!

We have good news for the underground community, considering that iPhone security expert and hacker, Stefan Esser confirmed that the exploit that he uncovered in the iOS 4.3.1 version is still existent in the iOS 4.3.2, fact that is translating in a faster availability of the full untethered jailbreak on 4.3.2 on all devices. Great news, is it not?

Here you have a screenshot of his Tweet that revealed this wonderful piece of information:

And here is his complete statement:

“Apple has been nice. I just verified that the untether vulnerability is not fixed in iOS 4.3.2 – my Ipad 1 is running untethered jailbroken

Of course the public untether binaries will not work with iOS 4.3.2 – I have to generate new untether binaries with new dyld/kernel offsets

I won’t be able to create all the untether binaries before sunday, because I will be on planes, …”

The tethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.2 was already available a few hours after the iOS 4.3.2 was launched using Redsn0w and PwnageTool.
